Formed in 2005 in St. Louis, MO, nominated the last three years in a row by the St. Louis Riverfront Times for best indie band, Troubadour Dali performed a debut disc of raw psych – rock on 2009 , with stacks of harmonies and hints of distortion that captured my ears .
John Wesley Coleman, much like that of his namesake, John Wesley Hardin, comes from a fugitive place of whiskey drinking, depravity and poor hygiene — and that’s no coincidence. Hailing from the bosom of football country, otherwise known as Irving, TX, and comprising one-fifth of Austin’s psych-country outfit the Golden Boys, Coleman is well on his way to becoming a Texas legend.
“Well, I have a band — it’s me and the drummer from Priestbird, Greg Rogove. What started off as a joke — “Let’s start a band and let’s make up song titles” — to our surprise and shock, we started writing songs, and we’ve written eight songs that I’m really really proud of and excited about. We’re gonna record a real record, and we’re called MEGAPUSS.”
