The 22-20s, from Sleaford, Lincolnshire and started by buddies Martin Trimble and Glen Bartup, are   one of the world’s perfect bands  with the  sinister and gritty blues that influence their  music .

They  first came to my attention in 2004 with the  shocker of a debut CD self-titled   , after which disbanded in 2005 but got back together in 2008 after the band’s former manager offered Trimble and Bartup some studio time, and in need of a drummer called up Irving to play on the sessions  with adding Dan Hare on guitar and backing vocals. So, the band secretly touring the UK in  2009 under the alias of one their new song titles “Bitter Pills,” and showcased a wealth of  new material, playing amongst others Oxford Jericho Tavern, Hull Adelphi, Derby Rockhouse and Northampton Picturedrome, after which,  with no announcement, they released their first new material in the single, “Latest Heartbreak” and released ‘Shake/Shiver/Moan’ in May 2010 and visited Daytrotter for a session in July 2010.

In February 2011, a Pledgemusic campaign was launched to release Shake/Shiver/Moan for people outside of Japan and the US. This new exclusive version of the album will include the tracks from the “Latest Heartbreak Live EP” and “Latest Outtakes” releases as bonus tracks.

The band announced in December 2011 the release  of the bands 3rd studio album “Got It If You Want It” which fortunately is already in my hands and I have the pleasure to share with you.

The 22-20s are like many British bands, have a fascination with the heaviness and power of the blues and added  a bit of psychedelic rock, showing  us that some music just comes out good, when played right, enjoy them …
