Sorry for the lull, beatniks. As you can tell I took sort of an unplanned respite for some weeks one more time. I´m just busy with try to finish our home on hill. So to break the dry spell I bring you something special. I was going to post this a while ago (like two weeks). I love it that Golden Dawn Arkestra is a something always fun to describe. These dudes have a fantastic work ethic same that huge first release from two years ago where groove seeps out of every orifice of their work.
The range of influences on their things is unbelievable. At the core it is soul, but they manages to wrap it in so many different layers and skins, flowing seamlessly from 1970’s funk and to 1980’s pop, R&B, Psych, Dance, all done in GDO’s own cheeky style. It’s like they has hijacked the radio stations, layering their rhymes and grooves all over the place. Their music is just alot of fun.
Like I said they released first self-titled EP on 2104 that you can download here if you missed it, that is just as good as this, I promise.
Obviously, listen and then buy a vinyl copy , so that these guys can have the means to keep supplying us with the fun.
