I  had no idea what I  was in for   when I chose this submision  randomly among all that  came  up at my  mail box on morning, for  what was a pleasant surprise  meet with all these little psych gems, you know, am I ever happy every time  I get  to listening some near  to my way through submitted albums and find something that just strikes my fancy .

Somerville, MA native  Alex Pollock has been making solo music under  The Ocular Audio Experiment  moniker for over two  years now, and he’s recently released his fifth  collection of tunes The Witch’s Whispering Tomes , at seems , this time beside Mark Nee and Molly Kimmerling .

The Ocular Audio Experiments have been feeding my  ears with their  concoction of   psych full of deep  ,  holding together the layers of swirling melodies with steady, minimal beats, and  hypnotic percussive looping of drums while Alex  subtle and woozy vocals,  shine gently, leaving plenty of room for guitar tones can dance around freely.

The Witch’s Whispering Tomes, is a double album featuring the same 12 songs in two different styles and the second version  with an unique sound, a kind of brooding psychedelic folk.
