This album is so pleasant as lot other I’ve lately received on my mail box.

Covek Peva Posle Rata is the solo work of Velibor Nikolić who is probably best known as former of Jewy Sabatay and current frontman of post -metal Brigand , although hardly a word is spoken of him in in places where usually I search releases. Much of this is likely to because consisting of Serbian language songs.

I do believe this is the first effort sent to me from Serbia , Sincerely I don’t know a single word of this language , but even without understanding exactly words , it was impossible not to feel something with his voice growling or whispering behind to his acoustic guitar and three guests who playing with him Iliju , Anitu and Šarkija, recording at a small home studio in his apartment along two months..

I like to think of Covek Peva Posle Rata, which would translate as A man singing after the war, as a good mixture of styles . Although the traditional acoustic instruments are largely responsible for the album´s tone , is utilize electronic instruments and effects albeit more sparsely and subtly, with some songs heavily focused on the Velbor´s vocal and metal tones . The effect is a very relaxed but never uninteresting set of songs, enjoyable if you’re looking to relax to something unusual coming from this small Balkan nation .
