Glasgow’s Al Hotchkiss have visited wearethelastbeatniks before, a full on blast of retro crossover garage.. nice. Al started as a solo acoustic/electric artist, and has evolved into a eerie sporadic juggernaut – a vessel that has brought a constantly evolving network with friends to at least half a dozen psych-garage-rock projects.
Well, I had the pleasure of a chat via FB with him the other day. There, he informed me that face an amazingly new fucked up one-man minimalist psych-garage project, now as Wild Al Hotchkiss.
On some occasions, simply at hearing a tune actually takes me right into the bedroom where it was recorded and I find it pretty easy to overlook some Lo-Fi warp. Here, Wild Al play bleak garage psych its most primitive, meandering interludes with tinges of blues and surf that allowing suggest can only come from a one man on his bedroom with no editorial oversight, dropping blown sounds that push the boundaries of music with unpredictable guitars hissing slathered in effects in a mix downright hypnotic where I’m not even sure if really matter if there are any drums involved but I’m sure will make you dig out Al’s entire catalog available on Howling Moon Records, where you can show some enthusiasm dropping some pounds.
