These are The Guru releases from their own record label Seagreen , which is Connecticut-based. . Really lovely funky beach pop songs. Very easy to get into.
The Guru is a 4-Piece rock band that was formed in Watertown sometime in 2009 with Eddie Golden III, Dan George, Colin Sullivan and Kyle McEvoy. I’ve been listening to them on last two days, trying to confirm what makes this band so appealing. I could point to the distinctly funky pop quality, vocals crushing or ripping guitars as might be easily assumed , but they also quite poppy and sunny to the point of seeming like surf pop at times.
But instead I directed my attention to the effect of their overall sound, eclectic and
ooze fun.
Check out, and grab their both albums from their bandcamp, for free if you’re broke, and see some details regarding vinyl and CDs up for sale for when have money….
