What is there to say about this household name that I hasn’t been said sometime in the last years on my posts?
The best part about this monumental institution that is goes by the name The Black Angels , besides having taken their name from a good VU song, and well, every note that these talented individuals play, is that they are as consistent as they come.
They are perhaps the only group that I won’t not hesitate even for a second, on buying into their newest record when it is released.
Sure, they sometimes take two years between their albums, but payoff is BIG.
Such is the case with this new one Indigo Meadow. A new undercurrent of samples, new vast explorations in a maybe new direction. These tunes are deep, wordless washes, overflowing with their musical growth.

NEW ALBUM INDIGO MEADOW TO BE RELEASED APRIL 2, 2013 + SPRING TOUR
Blue Horizon recording group The Black Angels have announced the upcoming release of their eagerly anticipated new album. Indigo Meadow will arrive in stores and online on April 2.
Indigo Meadow is heralded by the high-powered “Don’t Play With Guns.” Penned just days before last year’s mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado, the song is streaming below.
“Our music has always tried to shed light on issues that may be hard to deal with or confront,” says singer/multi-instrumentalist Alex Maas. “If people think they can ignore the issues they are wrong. Don’t play with guns, don’t touch a hot stove, don’t give your child a poisonous snake, don’t turn the cheek when artists are willing to discuss these issues.”
