Well mates, the time has come for a bit of psych pop to reemerge on wearethelastbeatniks..
Cabinet of Curiosities infuses me with a special swell while I write. I was unaware in all this time that a so wonderful psych pop could be produced from Netherlands.
Jacco Gardner, the main songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist, is from Hoom which is placed just 35 Km to the grand city of Amsterdam.
He writes beautiful, sometimes sad, others joyful, short songs, as when he used share duties with Hugo van de Poel on The Skywalkers, before be the one-man-band of the most music I’m sharing here, where he sing exclusively a lovely psych -pop pretty different to the garage/freakbeat kind of Skywalkers.
On his projects there are hints of 60´s sounds, pop, psych, garage, folk, and numerous other influences melded into a series of instrumental ear worms.
I think I was late to the Jacco game, but I like to think that I´m made up for lost time. I latched onto his psych jams like a leech and I squeezed some listens in a very short time, so I don´t have reservations in telling anyone who will wish listen him, how good I think it is, all you need to do is dig deep and enjoy yourself.
