Wow, If you’re keep count out there, it’s been nearly four days since my last posting , so instead of giving you a half-assed excuse as to why I can´t posting for all this time I’m going to say simply internet here smell shit .
Anyway, this is what I’ve been kinda dealing as of late lurking around the dark corners of some sites, where occasionally I stagger when I find with items like this.
She, Lorena Quntanilla is Lorelle. He, Alberto Gonzalez , The Obsolete. He is responsible for the drums, bass and guitars, she takes over the vocals, guitar and bass. Both, and as Lorelle Meets the Obsolete, and comes from Mexico City, from Guadalajara, and lately has become a cult, in the kind of band whose reputation grows as a rumor, word of mouth. By it I gather , Lorelle Meets the Obsolete is a duo bedroom music project and their tunes are just a great psych ambient rock jawn with washes of shoegaze bearing all the markers of a bedroom project, Lo – Fi productions, reverb , obscured killers vocals, and an all around intimate/distant vibe.
They sung in English, not because they´ve in mind today internationalization, but rather by the influence of all those foreign bands that once they listen.
The tracks seem to wash over you and disappear, yet long after you’re done listening, you’ll likely find your head nodding and toes tapping along to some almost forgotten drum beat. Let’s call it Lorelle shoegaze surf.
You can found all in a couple of musical productions, : the LPs On Welfare and recent Corruptible Faces, can download the digital version for 50 mex, something like five bucks at the bandcamp, or you can get a physical copy from there or through Captcha Records .
