There’s a guy called Edgar Jones. He used to be in a band called the Stairs back in the Eighties. A mate of mine recommended it. It fucking bent my head, man. It’s probably one of the best records I have ever heard.

What you have presently in front is maybe one of the most eclectic-incendiary discography you are likely to hear from  one musician´s projects

 Formed by Liverpool’s own music legend Edgar Jones  also known as Edgar Summertyme  on bass and  vocal duties,  started with his first team   ‘ The Stairs ‘ , which single  ‘ Weed Bus ‘ and the following album ‘ Mexican R ‘n’ B ‘, went on to become the classics they deserved to be with a wildly eclectic meander through funk, soul, doo wop, r&b , blues, – all with a unique individual twist.

As well,  he  worked with the best :like  Paul Weller, Johnny Marr and Lee Mavers amongst others. and  forming ‘The Big Kids’ who featured two of the future Zutons and Howie Payne of The Stands.Both .

After the demise of ‘ The Stairs ‘ ,  released two superb albums of jazzy, laden  r&b ,  with his fellow Liverpudlian  The Joneses, readying himself for record number three on 2008 this time  billed as Edgar Jones & Friends  and  his  collection, The Masked Marauder , it contains all the hallmarks of Jones’ previous output ,  intricate rhythms, precision playied, extended instrumentals and guttural croons, but Marauder adding a new dimension of electro-freakout cool .

Now since touring with Oasis, he  have been working on their album making sure it is just right. beside Nick Miniski on drums  and  Stuart Gimblett on Guitar  under name The Edgar Jones Free Peace Thing

With sounds loud and heavy with a touch of soul the his new  album  is titled   Stormy Weather.

Startling , triumphantly free of creative compromise and without the slightest whiff of commercialism aspirations,   is often said that  Edgar Jone is stuck in the 1960s. and maybe  is unfairly more  known because  Noel Gallagher   be considered his Nº 1 fan 

However, once you submit your mind to  his sounds , his songs seems

 more timeless than retro.
