Audio del DVD que los Blac Rebel Motorcycle Club llamado Live In London, el cual fue grabado el 23 de Abril en su historica presentacion en el London Forum ubicado en Kentish Town de Londres

El DVD fue mezclado por el productor y colaborador de la banda Michael Been, frontman de la banda The Call en los 80´s y quien tambien era el padre del vocalista del grupo Robert Levon Been, Michael Been fallecio el 19 de Agosto pasado en Belgica durante la presentacion de BRMC en el Pukkelpop Festival 2010.

Live in London se puede conseguir en el Reino Unido junto con la copia de su ultima produccion Beat The Devil’s Tattoo y tambien en el sitio web de la banda…

Segunda visita de los neoyorquinos Gay Blades a Daytrotter Studios ( Clark Westfield en voz, guitarra y Puppy Mills en bateria, presentandose como duo pero ya ven que hay un tercero, Jeff Plate en el bajo) , ya lo habian hecho en 2008 , registro que comparti junto a su discografia aqui hace un tiempo.

Eclectica discografia que pueden completar con esta gran presentacion registrada hace solo unas horas, solo pude mejorar un poco la calidad del archivo, saludos…

Gorillaz are currently on the Asian leg of their World Tour and the band performed in ‘Hong Kong’. As many almost anticipated in their minds, the band played the song ‘Hong Kong’ while they visited the island. If you can’t find the song on any Gorillaz album is because it was released in 2005 for a War Child compilation “Help: A Day In The Life”. Albarn talks about writing the song and talks a bit about Hong Kong. The audio is pretty good for an audience recording, you can watch the video below…

Aqui tenemos uno de los espectaculos de Rock mas grandes jamas registrado, uno de los registros mas esperados al menos por mi, y no hablo de Live At Leeds sino de Live At Hull de The Who , la declaracion verdadera de lo increible que estaba la banda en ese momento, la banda que comenzo siendo un espectaculo y termino siendo espectacular. Fuerte , crud a, energica , unica en su clase.
Para quienes no escucharon hablar del disco original Live At Ledds de los Who es el unico album en vivo lanzado por la banda en su mejor momento, una explosion sonora de seis canciones , diferente a todo lo que se habia escuchado antes y considerado por la mayoria como el mejor disco en vivo de todos los tiempos .
La particular historia de Live At Leeds nace con el lanzamiento de Tommy en 1969 y su gira mundial que lo promociono.
Posterior a esta gira y ya de regreso a Inglaterra nace la idea de un registro en vivo , por lo que se programan dos conciertos los dias 14 y 15 de Febrero de 1970, el primero en la Universidad de Leeds , el segundo en Hull , el que en un principio fue el elegido por la banda para transformarse en disco, pero debido a problemas tecnicos con la garbacion del bajo de John Entwistle, se opto pr transformar en disco el concierto del dia 14, asi nace Live At Leeds.
Pasaron mas decuarenta años de esto, esta es creo la cuarta version de Live At Leeds , y sigue siendo emocionante escucharlo , con el aditamento del registro de Live At Hull en los dos discos que se suman en esta edicion , igualmente sigo disfrutando del incomparable sonido del vinilo, para mi el formato por excelencia.
Live At Lieeds sigue siendo el disco en vivo favorito de la epoca, junto a Get Yer Ya Ya´s … de los Stones .
Es genial cuando la industria de la musica hace cosas como estas, disfrutenla...

Habia nacido en Seattle , Washington. Su padre era jardinero y su madre de ascendencia india. Guitarrista auodidacta, a los 11 años tuvo su primera guitarra electrica.

En 1961 ingreso como paracaidista y una torcedura de tobillo lo rescata en 1963.
A partir de ahi, Wilson Pickett , Little Richard entre otros utilizaron sus servicios.

Con los Isley Brothers se instala en Nueva York, en donde toca con Lonnie Youngblood y Curtis Knight, hasta que forma su propio grupo llamado Jimmy James and The Blue Flames en 1965.

En el Cafe A Go Go , lugar frecuentado por Bob Dylan, The Beatles y los Stones , el ex bajista de los Animals llamado Chas Chandler, incipiente promotor, lo invita al Reino Unido y le busca una banda.

Noel Reading, que habia hecho una prueba para Eric Burdon, y Mitch Mitchell , ex baterista de Georgie Fame serian los complices perfectos para formar junto a este guitarrista, maniatico perfeccionista,y que era ante todo, impresionante , llamado Jimi Hendrix , The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

Debutan en Paris como teloneros de Johnnie Hollyday, luego llegaria Hey Joe al sexto puesto en los rankings, la television , y la rendicion del Reino Unido y Norteamerica ante su imagen estrafalaria , su prestidigitacion y su psicodelia.

En resumidas palabras, este es el comienzo de la historia de Jimi Hendrix. Solo grabo tres discos, Are You Experienced? en 1967, Axis: Bold As Love en 1968 y el mismo año el mismo produce parte de esta obra monumental llamada Electric Ladyland, un album doble poblado de hallazgos experimentales que lo transforman en un clasico indiscutible, junto al disco comparto el DVD del proceso de produccion de Electric Ladyland llamado The Making Of Electric Ladyland , imagenes que fueron televisadas originalmente por la cadena VH1 en su segmento Classics Albums en 1997 , DVD que en 2008 formaria parte de Electric Ladyland 40th Anniversary Collector Edition , espero los disfuten, saludos …

Mitchell, singer/keyboard player Stevie Winwood, engineer Eddie Kramer, and Hendrix’s manager, Chas Chandler (in his

final interview). Hendrix produced Electric Ladyland himself, and the 1968 LP contained his biggest hit — a cover of

the Bob Dylan song “All Along the Watch Tower,” as well as “Voodoo Child (Slight Return),” which

later covered by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Named after Hendrix’s New York studio where it was recorded, Electric Ladyland

featured guest performances by Buddy Miles, Steve Winwood, Jack Casady, Dave Mason, Chris Wood, and Al Cooper.

Electric Ladyland is the third and final album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, released in 1968 on Reprise Records (see

1968 in music). Written and produced by Jimi Hendrix, the album is seen as the peak of Hendrix’s mastery of the electric

guitar, and is frequently cited as one of the greatest rock albums of all time. It is not only the last of his albums

released as the Jimi Hendrix Experience, but also the last of Hendrix’s studio albums to be professionally produced

under his own supervision. After Electric Ladyland, Hendrix spent the remaining two years of his life attempting to

organize a new band and recording a breadth of new songs.

Domino are very honoured to announce the upcoming release of a comprehensive seven-disc anthology of one of the finest groups of all-time, Orange Juice. Coals To Newcastle will be released on the 8th of November.

The boxset is made up of six audio compact discs and one DVD that contain the band’s complete discography and other studio recordings as well as a collection of their BBC sessions. The DVD contains the band’s two promotional clips for “Rip It Up” and “What Presence?!” (the latter directed by Derek Jarman), their four performances on The Old Grey Whistle Test and the rare posthumous concert video “Dada With The Juice”. In total, Coals To Newcastle contains 16 previously unreleased tracks with another 23 tracks previously unavailable on earlier re-issues.

Purple Rhinestone Eagle es la magica fabrica de riffs y psicodelia que adornan un Rock And Roll escrito en mayusculas y en negritas, originario de Oregon y formado nada menos que por un trio de chicas. Andre Geneva en guitarra y voz, Ray Morgan Denning en bajo y Ashley Spungin tocan juntas desde 2005, cuando se formo esta particular banda en Filadelfia, para luego recalar en Oregon en donde se instalaron con su musica qe no es facil de encasillar en un estilo, con elementos propios de los años 60´s -70´s, riffs heavys , Rock psicodelico y Garage Punk en un plano totalmente diferente a sus pares femeninos que nos tienen acostumbrados al Power Pop o el Indie Folk.

Lanzaron recientemente The Great Return, sucesor del excelente Amorum Tali de 2009 que fue grabado en forma analogica, con el que comenzaron esta interesante carrera hacia la psicodelia y el riffin´de otras epocas, espero les guste…

Amorum Tali, Latin for talons of love, was Purple Rhinestone Eagle’s first experiment with analog recording. Recorded by Alex Yumsimov in his full analog studio, The Pool Recording Studio (Oct 2008), the five song album was recorded in three days. The ladies of the Eagle desired that the album have a raw feel to it capturing their live show experience. Post-production was kept to a minimal to maintain the theme of the album. They chose analog over digital for warmth and a more authentic listening experience. The results speak for themselves…
