 Just…holy shit. A thirty three bands new psych bubble that is about to destroy the next two hours of your life. If you like to be charmed, then I can assure you that there is something here for you, and probably several somethings since the level of quality here is pretty astounding. Bands which built the rich heritage of space cosmic psych music of our Aussie brothers tracing the lineage from the sixties to the present day with sonic delights from every decade playing since Krautrock until native sounds .. and basically passing all of the subgenres give us an awesome cosmic trip. Gaz Cobain and Brian Dougans aka Amorphous Andrginous UK duo worked on all these gems to release this monster, named The Wizards Of Oz that is my newest obsession., and now I’m sharing it with you. THE AMORPHOUS ANDROGYNOUS just released A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Mind compilations .
The fourth instalment of the influential psych series, subtitled Wizards Of Oz, is devoted to Australian acts and finds the mixological two-piece unearthing a host of hidden treasures and gems culled from several generations of the country’s more third-eye-friendly musicians.
While previous editions of A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble… saw Future Sound Of London alumni Gaz Cobain and Brian Dougans champion a host of their psychedelic favourites, for this mix the duo found themselves stumbling across artists who were completely new to them.
“As the collection evolved the question that arose with increasing regularity was, ‘How and why have we not heard this before?!’” they explain. “And then, ‘If this band had been from the UK or the USA would they have been unheard and unknown?’ The answer to this was a resounding No!” (Mojo magazine)
