Something of haunting garage psych from this quintet of south France madmen that call themselves Qúetzal Snåkes. Few weeks ago remember that I had a bunch of shit to do and wanted to dig some new tunes while I was slogging through home moving tasks. After some listens was when I realized I was sitting between the boxes like if something would been punched me in the gut so immediately I determined that at that moment I not needed anything at all from the world of sound that Qúetzal Snåkes had not given me.
Hard to find a place to put these artists, anyway categories matter little when an effort is this good, only I´ll say that some folks are taking the current injection of ’60s into DIY garage a little more seriously than others, and are doing so with frightening success.
Driving , deliberate and decidedly psych, Qúetzal Snåkes temper their attack with reverb ambient numbers to get drawn in by distorted bass and guitars on timeless soundscapes, until finish in a dark road with arms open while vocals scream out with the very emotions that I’ve felt in my adolescence for sliding into my list of current favorites.
They are offering this production on vinyl and worth the €10 price alone.
