Any readers who put a little bit of attention to wearethelastbeatniks have likely picked up on my affinity for a certain crop of bands in EU, and Julia Hummer aka Juleah is a magic seed that is helping that crop grow.
Really I am beyond enamored with this from Austria psychedelic woman breathy and transfixing music. On their efforts manage to incorporate brooding shoegaze sounds into simple and straightforward midtempo psych jams fronted by a woman who sounds like a singer from Warpaint.
Entangled And Entwined was first that appeared in my inbox a few weeks ago, and I was hooked instantly – all songs are full of echo and mystery, and still manage to come off as quirky and energetic. Think I’ve used enough adjectives, so I can only thank you to Ric from Russian Winter Records by gave it to me. Now it’s time for you to listen.
