When has spent as much time as I do, listening to music from somebody, I feel a great thrill when some new effort from him comes out as of nowhere playing that kind of music I wish all the guys”girls of today could playing and listening to.
So I have to admit,this review may be a bit biased,seeing as Jeff Novak has been an big obsession of mine since few years ago, I really love all of him to death,and these two records are totally mind blowing and all,but instead of start the rant rave , I will just give you the facts.
Lemon Kid is the fifth solo long player from songwriter-composer-overflow of talent from Henderson, TN, and Exit Snile the fourth as driver of his main vehicle,Cheap Time. He somehow found time in between writing an equally amazing new Jessica- Ryan reunion record as to write this entire beast of solo album.
Always evolving musically Jeff has once again brought a fantastic bunch of crazed slaps cut straight from the acute garage rock cloth that feel so close in wearethelastbeatniks like a mad music wizard able to mold ideal settings for his tunes, both instrumentally and vocally. with an energy so overtly exhilarating that most of us can only wish to adopt.
