Gregg Kowalsky and Marielle Jakobsons are San francisco´s Date Palms .This duo have been feeding our eyes and ears with their ever-evolving concoction of minimalist psych chakra rock , for quite a while now with more than a few handfuls of releases on various US labels in the past few years, and they return with a stunning new full length, finding a new home in Chicago based label Thrill Jockey .
The Dusted Sessions is unlike anything we’ve heard from Date Palms in the past ( well, I seems ) . Without venturing too far from the space drone soaked psych jams that I love from them , the couple, now as a five piece seems have conjured up a tame cosmic approach, and their music feels more spiritual focused than ever. So, like everything has been somewhat revamped, and the results are epic, and just seems to be better with each listen. Amazing….
