So, dive into psychedelic waters again. Or who knows, maybe you don’t took this current that flowing so strongly yet . I vote that be it now, then. It is a phase that at times you feel it how… how I could have missed this?
I wondered, Would these words be necessary? This San Fransisco duo has been so incredibly vast and almost mandatory to psych fans these last three years , that any information or recommendation should be available on at least a hundred sites . But for those who missed their magic when I posted them or are new it for any reason , I will continue at yell it .
A few years back, guitarrist Erick ” Ripley” Johnson was interested in making some music outside of San Francisco psych-rock monster Wooden Shjips in his spare time, so he started playing joined by his girlfriend Sanae Yamada on keyboards, and together exploded on spacey effects, mysterious, hushed vocals and walls of reverb called Moon Duo, who unlike Wooden Shjips have created their sound in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado before relocating to Portland, Oregon.
They are at top of psychedelic garage-drone rock, where a driving,chaotic synthesizer which never lets his race against robotic drums with which are tightly wound together creates an hypnotic rock atmosphere peppered with kraut rock energy buried beneath guitars distorted rumble.
This is the third time I work about Moon Duo, so now with some new releases and by a follower’s request, this was a real treat…
