This three piece has done their homework again , and have managed to take psychedelic Garage and combine it with raw punk and early ’70s rock´n roll acts like of MC5 to make an eight song new recording as thoroughly engaging midst anything I’ve heard in quite some time.
I’ve been following the unassuming Philadelphia garage outfit Lantern for a bit now, since I found them on the now dead “fondness makes the heart grow absent” blog on last year.
Catchy, loud, raw and funny rock´n roll as fukkn shit, this time Lantern put it on edge. I suppose they fall somewhere between Stooges and Dead Kennedys worshipping garage rock ‘n roll that demands at maximum volume and allows Lantern to advance with their enthusiastic conspicuously .
