Definitely when Dan from Ongakubaka blog says that something is good I´ve only got sit up and enjoy.
Well , what Dan had post lined up was Travel Check’s new three tracks 7″ , that was for me an introducing to a new garage , lo-fi rock band from Paris , France. A roughly done sampler that compliments their style of psych out rock. I do mean rather lo-fi in a lovely way. that reminds me some version of Growlers .
Definitely influenced heavily by 60s psychedelic rock, these fellas putting together three package of tunes , only to enhances spectacular french garage label cocktail Howlin´Banana Records. Pretty sure you’ll find it a rewarding experience

« Wild Tropics » is the third Ep by Paris-based garage-pop trio Travel Check. These three kids mix psychedelism, garage rock and pop into a sound of their own. Inspired by the new wave of garage bands hailing from the US, such as The Black Lips or Thee Oh-Sees, as well as their Back From The Grave / Nuggets comps ancestors, the trio managed to find their own sound, with psychedelic mid tempo numbers, and the occasional garage riot song, which are all about beer, holydays & chicks. Well, what did you expect? Anyway, if you dig garage rock but think it doesn’t always have to be played by the book, then give it a try, these three brillant tracks are sure worth a listen! Out on Howlin Banana Records on March 2nd 2013.
