Last night I felt like required to make a post about how amazing and underrated Carey Mercer/ blackout beach solo project so here it is.

It seems like I have been searching weird music this weekend to post. But as I think about it, I am not sure if the music was different or if it was my ears, or my brain´s perception of the sounds was sensitive after see Rodriguez documentary.

This thought had hijacked my time , when I found that  in these days Frog Eyes’ Carey Mercer, in the guise of his Blackout Beach solo project, has back revisited their Fuck Death. album, to reinterpret these songs with a new approach and has put out another incredible record  named  Blues Trip..

Mercer can being anything but tiresome, he  has taken a  different route to  rock than most of the artists I’ve been posted lately. He certain has made his share through his spastic,  lovely  voice  in his bands ,  with a sutil display of raw hypnotic energy,  making  his  songs  above all catchy.  So, instead of being irresistible by overwhelming force, he has used guile and charming song craft to make epic  albums .

Biography

Carey Mercer started Blackout Beach as solo endeavor soon after the demise of his brilliant first band, Blue Pine, in 2001. Frog Eyes began around this time, too. Blackout Beach has since become a living, breathing thing, a trio, with Mercer at the helm.
