Lasso is the brainchild of Andrew John Tar Catlin, keyboardist from The Go Rounds and who also involved in loads of other things Kalamazoo outputs, for it, he has its own label Double Phelix which evolved out of what was Strutt Records, a recording studio in the basement on where was The Strutt.
With Lasso has been brewing sounds recorded very lo-fi, by the way, with songs buried beneath mountains of fuzz and reverb , a psychedelic kind of mix , with weird old American music inspired in spaghetti-western sounds from composer Ennio Morricone to his first full lenght Lasso´d , released on December 2011 , although this wasn’t Catlin’s first release. “The Return of Lasso ” was released on cassette tape by Already Dead Tapes and Records on July same year.
Now, Lasso gives us these awesome new records out just in time to blow my mind wide open, so easy to listen to any time of the day,
Well written psych-tinged folk songs are his forte, and his talents really shine on these EPs . If you are familiar with past Lasso releases, you will know that they are very lo-fi.

.It’s good to hear from Catlin again, and hopefully this projects will turn out a new LP from Lasso.
