Hell of a band !

Hi mates

If you were unaware the awesome band that are the Rival Sons, I strongly suggest you check them out, to me they’re real genius.

“To go on about us and Zeppelin is just lazy. I love the band, and it is an honour to be mentioned with them. I understand where it comes from, but we have a lot more going for us than sounding like them. Why not mention Foghat as well?

“I know my vocal style owes something to Robert Plant, but it’s also got similarities to Steve Marriott and Johnny Ray.”

“I was into the likes of Robert Johnson, Howling Wolf, Leadbelly, Willie Dixon and John Lee Hooker. I didn’t actually hear Zeppelin until I was 13, although I loved the band as soon as they came into my life. I thought, ‘O yes, this is rock ’n’ roll!’.”

“We have to keep on making records which are true to what we are trying to do, and by doing this we’ll across to everyone that we are not the new Led Zeppelin, but the first Rival Sons.”

Yes, in Jay Buchanan voice , lead singer and frontman of Californian young band called Rival Sons, do not want to be compared to Led Zeppelin, but accepts be fan of the that great band and his vocal style resembles of Robert Plant, some difficult to avoid after hearing his records, both the style, it has a lot of Zeppelin (as well as other classic rock bands of the 60-70 `s), as the ability to transmit both live and on their records the same energy, as they show at The Roxy, 2009 below

Particularly I think in his backpack they loading other elements than just the influence of oldschool bands as Humble Pie or Led Zeppelin which has it in spades. , too has gospel and soul vibes which do that while are cataloged as a retro rock band, they mixed all his influences for a product in its own right , real rock n’ roll with sounds from classic rock, funk, and R&B, surely to show us which they heard on most of his life.

The band is completed by Scott Holiday on guitar, Robin Everhart on bass and Michael Miley on drums and their amazing discography consists on Before The Fire debut at June 9, 2009, the record live at The Roxy 3 days later, a self-titled EP October 2010 preceding Pressure & Time.
