We all know the Fuzztones are popular the world over, they have been ploughing on fields of 60s-styled garage punk since the early eighties, but they’re also popular across many genres, as demonstrated on this tribute in form of a compilation by a lot of the freakbeat, psychedelia and caveman-stomp garage bands.
The concept of Illegitimate Spawn chases its own tail: an international compilation of unknown groups playing cover versions in tribute to The Fuzztones.
As someone who enjoy of the melodic end of sixties fuzz-drenched garagepunk, I’m sure I can recommend this 4 CD that I think I could enjoy any..
But for those who enjoy a mean ‘n’ simple riff on the Farfisa, sneering vocals and lots and lots of fuzz , these albums is wide-ranging and essential.
