This time around I have something special for you, as this quartet sounds just a little bit different than most of their contemporaries.
This particular band takes us back not only to the 70’s, but sometimes even the late 60’s.
Be prepared for a lot of Hammond, Blues Harp & an amount of wah-wah guitars.
Captain Murphy is a Swedish rock band established in 1999 in Stockholm by Victor Hvidfeldt (electric guitar), Johnny Borgström (electric bass), and Sonny Boy Gustafsson (electric guitar and vocals). The band was soon complemented with Tomas “Fruttas” Eriksson (drums). The band recorded their first album in January 2004. First they wanted to have Nicke Andersson from The Hellacopters as a producer, but he didn’t have the time and suggested Chips K, who took the assignment. The first album Captain Murphy was released in April the same year.
Was the best band scandinavian of the moment, I swear, had the potential to take over from Hellacopters and do something big. Unfortunately not continue playing together , released another album, which I could never get to buy.
This concludes my review of Scandinavian rock..
