After ten years in existence, Acoustic Ladyland will reincarnate in 2011 with the same personnel but a dynamic new approach and a brand new name.
Before the old name is shelved for good, the group will perform a series of very special farewell concerts around the UK, performing old material as well as a glimpse of the new stuff. This is your last chance to see Acoustic Ladyland live, as they won’t be playing those classic songs again. Ever.
As well as a full UK tour there will be a four-night residency at London’s Vortex club in which the band will perform each of their four albums in full, with the original line-ups and special guests. These shows are already close to selling out.
The band’s stunning ack-ack aural assault currently features band leader Pete Wareham (vocals, tenor & baritone sax) alongside internationally acclaimed drummer Seb Rochford (Polar Bear), Trio VD’s Chris Sharkey (guitar) and Ruth Goller (bass guitar). With this self-enforced Year Zero rapidly approaching, you can expect the most ferocious and exhilarating shows of their careers. Destructive, brilliant and utterly thrilling, be assured they’ll be going out with a bang.

Este es el anuncio con el Pete Wareham comunica la definitiva disolucion de Electric Ladyland, banda de lacual Wareham es su frontman, vocalista y saxofonista y a la que el define como Un grupo compuesto por saxo, guitarra, bajo y bateria, que trata de casarse con la improvisacion y la asuncion de riesgos con grandes melodias , con el objetivo de evolucionar siempre, manteniendo la flexibilidad para cambiar sus gustos, y hacer buena musica.
Cuando Acoustic Ladyland surgio en 2004 con su primer disco Camouflage, se vismumbraban como prometedores musicos de jazz de Gran Bretaña, con la consecuente pregunta tras escuchar su trabajo de si era o no era jazz.
Detras de esta pregunta, solo habia que mirar la musica, con musicos de jazz de fondo, jugando con un estilo que no ni era ni jazz, ni no-jazz, algo que pofriamos denominar como post-jazz. Un estilo que contiene las reglas del jazz de los 70s, pero en el que el Punk y el Rock tambien se transforman ingredientes vitales, con una diversidad ritmica pegada a su patrimonio musical que se movio de forma incremental y que se fue alejando de sus raices como banda de jazz a medida que avanzaron en su discografia, en la que se puede palpar la libertad y la alegria compositiva de musicos talentosos.
Esta noche se estaran despidiendo de Brighton, en el Pavilion Theater en el complejo Brighton Dome , a partir de las 8:00 pm con la banda local Grass Cut como soporte, quienes puedan ir, no creo que se arrepientan. Espero que les guste y gracias a Erick por recordarmelos, saludos…

muy buena banda,y te paso el dato que la bajista y baterista de la banda formaron una banda llamada big dave,con el ex guitarrista de babyshambles;patrick walden ,hasta ahora solo existen algunos demos en su my space,es una banda que promete mucho,en particular me gusta muchisimo el album “SKINNY GRIN” ,tengo algunos demos y sesiones de esta banda ya luego las pongo en el blog o te las paso
