Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince, aka The Kills, delivered a refreshingly crusty rock ‘n roll set to the Outdoor stage at Coachella on night of Saturday April 16.
If overarching hyperbole is to be believed then, apparently, rock’n’roll is dead. But if that’s the case it seems no-one gave The Kills the memo. Prowling around with the rejuvenated vigour of having had, essentially, a three-year sabbatical, Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince are tighter, fiercer and wired with more raw, visceral energy than ever before.

Future Starts Slow is the second single to be released from The Kills fourth studio album ‘Blood Pressures’. Directed by Philip Andelman, the video follows the band on their travels around album release time earlier this year.

Finalmente el proximo 04 de abril estaran de vuelta Alison Mosshart y Jamie Hince con un nuevo album llamado Blood Pressures, esperado sucesor de Midnight Boom de 2008, año tras el cual Mosshart dedico su tiemo libre a concentrarse en secundar de manera fantastica a Jack White en los Dead Weather, sin por ello descuidar el trabajo con Hince. El disco se filtro en la red al tiempo que ellos estan realizando unas sesiones previas al lanzamiento.
El resultado son estos once temas representativos de la acostumbrada sofisticacion del sonido y las voces de The Kills, que demuestran que despues de estos ocho años, la habilidad de este duo por cultivar cierto grado de misterio no es en vano, espero que disfruten esto, saludos…

The Kills – Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart – are back with a new studio album, ‘Blood Pressures’, the highly anticipated follow-up to their critically acclaimed third album, Midnight Boom.
‘Blood Pressures’ finds The Kills with their swagger and sass intact, but with a new thoughtfulness and depth – even a tinge of wistfulness and vulnerability – to their always compelling songwriting. As one of the most vital, striking bands recording today, The Kills’ vividly unique “rock” is at once effortless, edgy and timeless.
For the sessions that became ‘Blood Pressures’, Jamie and Alison returned to Key Club Studios in Michigan where they reunited with ‘Midnight Boom’ engineers Bill Skibbe and Jessica Ruffins. Produced by Jamie Hince, the album was mixed in London by Tom Elmhirst.
With their basic sound intact – searing guitars, driving rhythms and sexually charged lyrical savvy – the 11 tracks on ‘Blood Pressures’ find The Kills embracing a fuller sound and becoming more adventurous in the studio, while the lyrics are honest, heartfelt and sometimes just plain heartbreaking. Departing from the sparse, angular sound of ‘Midnight Boom’, the duo explores complex textures on ‘Blood Pressures’. There is heavier instrumentation and layered, huge-sounding harmonies. Alison and Jamie play all the instruments on the album, including piano and mellotron.

Sabemos que The Kills es ese excelente e interoceanico duo formado por la cantante americana Alison Mosshart ( la misma de los Dead Weather ) y el guitarrista britanico Jamie Hince y que cultivan un estilo Grage Rock, Lo-Fi , Indie mu agradable.
Hace una semanas participaron de ese excelente proyecto musical iniciado por la empresa Levi´s bajo el nombre de Pionner Sessions en la que eligen buenos musicos para interpretar clasicos de excelentes bandas de los cuales ya comparti aqui el de Passion Pit .
Y los Kills no tuvieron mejor idea que elegir un ade las mejores canciones que escribio Lou Reed para su Velvet Undergorund , Pale Blue Eyes, de lo que resulto esto, un digno paralelo del original…
