McCarthy

Hace un tiempo que tenia ganas de compartir esto. Se trata de la pequeña pero exquisita discografia de McCarthy, quienes quizas son mas conocidos por ser la banda que reunio a Tim Gane y Laetetia Sadier quienes luego formaron Stereolab, o la banda de referencia de los Manic Street Preachers, que por ser una de las mejores bandas Indie Pop de fines de los 80´s , con una melodia impecable acompañando a letras con un compromiso politico que ya es evidente desde su nombre( se inspiraron en el senador nortreamericano Joseph McCarthy, uno de los mayores impulsores de la caza de brujas anticomunista de los años 50). .

El grupo fue creado en 1985 por Malcolm Eden (voz y guitarra) y Tim Gane (guitarra) en su Barking natal (Condado de Essex). Al mismo pronto se unieron John Williamson (bajo) y Gary Baker (bateria). Publicaron tres discos de estudio, resaltando que en el tercero de ellos tomo la voz principal Laetitia Sadier, quien tras la disolucion de McCarthy formo Stereolab junto a Tim Gane , mientras Eden formaba Herdzel.

Comparto aqui sus tres trabajos, I Am A Wallet (1987), The Enraged Will Inherit The Earth (1989) y Banking, Violence And The Inner Life Today (1990), que son tres colecciones sin desperdicio, con canciones que les llevaron a formar parte de la seminal recopilacion jangly de la NME C-86 con su tema Celestial City.
