La productividad no parace ser uno de los atributos de los Vaselines , veinte años para grabar dos discos no es un buen ritmo de trabajo, pero bueno, gracias a haber sido la banda de cabecera de Kurt Cobain se transformaron en una banda de culto ( para quienes no lo saben Nirvana incluyo dos temas de The Vaselines, Son of a Gun y Molly´s Lips, en su álbum Incesticide, ademas de una version de Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam en su Unplugged in New York).

Los Phoenix , una de las mejores bandas actuales y definitivamente de lo mejor que salio de Francia ultimamente, acaban de grabar su propio MTV Unplugged y por ahora pueden disfrutarlo en estos seis temas versionados en forma descontracturada, con un sonido mas crudo, sin tanta electronica a como estamos acostumbrados, pero geniales como siempre, saludos…

Los Family Cactus son una banda compuesta por siete musicos de bandas muy bien consideradas de Nueva Zelanda como The Accelerants, The Brunettes, The Nudie Suits, Grand Prix, The Cosbys, The Bonnie Scarlets , lo que hace que musicalmente todos sus miembros tengan su propia bolsa de buenas referencias y resultando en una buena combinacion entre Rock, Country, Blues y Pop .
Deberan preguntarse cual es el resultado de esta mezcla, bien , hagan el esfuerzo de conocerlos y creo que no se sentiran decepcionados…
Todos sabemos que hay una reaccin casi instintiva contra los albumes de grandes exitos entre los que se preocupan por estas cosas, y quizas tienen una buena razon. A mi mismo me ha pasado escuchar Greatest Hits… o The Best Of … que me parecieron terribles, que era una manera de vender a los seguidores un mismo tema dos y hasta tres veces , eliminando canciones que para los fans nos importa mucho.
Pero bueno, en este caso se trata de Blur, y se trata de un album de grandes exitos justo en el año que se juntaron nuevamente.
Aunque muchos seguidores le encontraran fallas, el titulo lo dice, dos discos para la mediaba edad y una guia para principiantes de Blur, en donde encontramos los singles mas populares para oyentes casuales, pero tambien desentierra algunos temas interesantes de la gran discografia de esta banda, una de mis favoritas por cierto…

Track inedito de Eddie Vedder, filtrado en Internet luego de haber aparecido inesperadamente en el sitio oficial de Monkey Wrench Records, la etiqueta con la que lanzaron su ultimo disco, “Backspacer”.
El fan club de Pearl Jam especula que el track fue grabado en las sesiones del album “Riot Act”, otros que es un Lado B mas actual, en realidad es un nuevo tema de Vedder realizado para la proxima pelicula que protagonizara Julia Roberts que llevara el titulo Eat Pray Love , de todas maneras aqui esta para que lo escuchen , y si les gusta, lo bajen, y feliz dia de la musica …
