While we wasted 2016 worrying about global warming and the environment and the notion that the earth might meet demise at the hands of the swamp monster portrayed on the cover of almost all polititian magazines these days. .. With that in mind, let’s start off ’17 right with Brooklyn psych wizards Woods and their discog. Okay, It’s third time that you cross paths with Woods discog on this wearethelastbeatniks six years tour, but well, I took a few weeks off to get caught up on all the unglamorous behind the scenes work that goes on here. I hope you don’t had taken it personally, and used the time to talk to your kids about drugs or something.

When I met them as Woods Family Creeps in 2008, I knew nothing about this band, only I stumbled onto them through that wonderful album and haven’t stopped listening to them since.
So was that I have filled out with their discography , which stands out as the one of most compelling between my discs.
Woods is a Warwick, NY-based indie folk band, that sound like a kind of mix of The Beatles, The Band and 70s Neil Young in their free time doing collages of recorded music at an abandoned and moldy cabin beside a society distant road .
Jeremy Earl is the voice tender and vulnerable, and the human face behind this experimental backdrop.
Their music has this strange balance between elegant and ramshackle; can seem too simple in some moments, too artsy in others, and the production is lo-fi since begining all the way, but captivates , and if it hits you, the reward be well worth, the entire experience is one of jubilance..
